Hey KIDS!
Here's an interesting piece of news.
Do you remember the March 2009 GE Math Day camp that most of us went for?

For those who participated in the camp, you have a chance to be the facilitator NEXT YEAR!!

Our school and Hwa Chong are supposed to have around 10 odd facilitators each.
The requirement is that they have participated in the 2009 GE Math camp as far as i know.
And the Math Trail this time will be held in Vivocity according to Mr Lim CJ.
And we get to be facils/station masters.
The date and time for the camp is not confirmed but it will be during the March holidays.
Can those who have participated in the 2009 March camp email me through DHS MAIL to say that you participated?
Apparently Mr Lim wants the full name list.
PLEASE also tell me whether you are interested to be a facil/station master or not.
AND even if you're not interested but have participated in the 2009 camp, email me hor.
So that i can get the full name list.

The Robot Lie Detector

John was a salesman's delight when it came to any kind of unusual gimmick. His wife Marsha had long ago given up trying to get him to change.
One day John came home with another one of his unusual purchases. It was a robot that John claimed was actually a lie detector.
It was about 5:30 that afternoon when Tommy, their 11 year old son, returned home from school. Tommy was over 2 hours late.
'Where have you been? Why are you over 2 hours late getting home?' asked John.
'Several of us went to the library to work on an extra credit project,' said Tommy.
The robot then walked around the table and slapped Tommy, knocking him completely out of his chair.

'What did you watch?' asked Marsha.

'I am ashamed of you son,' said John. 'When I was your age, I never lied to my parents.'
The robot then walked around to John and delivered a whack that nearly knocked him out of his chair.

Mr Kwok is only giving our class 5 mins to change and go down for pe tmr as he says that we are always late. So pls try and wear your pe attire under your uniform tmr if possible. If you are wearing tie and looks absolutely ridiculous with pe under the uniform, change QUICKLY and CHIONG down. Cus if u guys dont get there in 5 mins, i will DIE. yeah.

And another thing to note, pls send me a message for those who havent done so, indicating whether you have hit the target time for the running last week. I need to keep track. hey peeps. about teachers day celebration, i will give a briefing tomorrow morning as today is quite a busy day.

so, teachers day is around the corner!!! it's a perfect time to express our thanks to our wonderful subject teachers, CCA teachers, etc.

this year teachers day celebration de theme is HEROES. as teachers save us not onlywhen we are academically weak, but also in their own ways, inspire us to become better people.

the mass gift for all teachers will be a booklet with different classes' class message.

so, whats class message? it is a BLANK A4 paper, can draw or paste pictures ^^ the class message is to express our feelings to ALL our subject teachers. no inappropriate content is allowed, like profanities, derogatory words, racist content, etc. erm. disciplinary actions will be taken if found to contain inappropriate content

there are personal message available too! soft copy template will be send to our dhs mail by this friday, 31 july.

the class message and personal messages are due on 7th august, friday. in short, next friday.

also, $1 is a must to give for the printing of booklet as it is not funded by the school. hence, the collection of money will start from tomorrow, and the last day to give $1 is on monday. thus, i predict there is $26 by monday morning being passed to me ^^

This may as well be useless or irrelevant, but still. I wanna know. Cause two years ago i recall making a giant crayon-ed list of people's birthdays. But I dont think that'll apply now, cos of the giant homecoming list with post-its on it.

SO... I think I should do something else about the birthdays.
AND... Me and PeiShan have discussed on options. Roughly.

FIRSTLY... we can use the WHITEboard [not noticeboard. i thought it was noticeboard at first when peishan smsed] at the back of the class to list down the birthdays, and do cancelling and stuff, then at the bottom write: UPCOMING BIRTHDAY/S. and... yeah.
Yay.
OR... we can use the big homecoming thing list for the birthdays, but write the upcoming birthdays on any whiteboard, front or back.

HELLO LYSTRA!!!!!

Jiayous for upcoming tests!!!
For jap ppl with the exception of me and belinda, there's a common test on Tues! Rmb to study Lessons 12 to 14!
And there's Chinese test on Wednesday so rmb to memorise the Cheng yu and stuffs!
And Science test on Thursday and it includes balanced diet so rmb to study.
And there's Chinese tingxie on Day 3 Week 9!
Lastly, there's geog test on Week 9 and it's on the geography of food! Study!!

Spend these two weeks mugging bahs. Cross our fingers and hope we pass!!

ever since we kenna by miss lee about staying back, we have been getting perfect 6! however, i want to say that not everyone in our class put in the effort for the class cleaniness.

i hope you guys wont just clean on your duty days, and also whenever you see the bin is full or rubbish on the floor,

IMPORTANT NOTICE.
WE NEED CO-OPERATION.

Date of Sale: 19, 20, 21 Jan
People mending the stall during recess will get CIP hours, and it is voluntary to mend the stalls.

Items to be sold:
- Ear Studs (Orange-shaped)
- Chinese Knots
- Lanterns [We need a mass production of this.]

I know this is very last minute, however we've been tight on schedule and naturally we'll need much co-operation. The lanterns, although I have doubts on people wanting to buy them, we still have to try. Sell at cheap cheap prices [:

The Ear Studs were made by ChingYing, which states that if it sells well we'll be able to make large profits. We're all targeting females, who we know have a tendency to buy 'cute' items at whatever cost, so it is easier to coerce them into buying stuff. Which is GOOD.

I have many suggestions, such as key-chains and notebooks (personalised?), however I need to know the exact procedure and cost so as to consider it. Yep. Will be having a discussion/and also teaching session in class on Monday MORNING, during the free periods.

We'll be doing:-
- Discussion on any other practical thing to make, sell
- Teaching sessions by Peishan on making Chinese Knots

We need everyone to bring anything at home that you think CAN BE SOLD or make any miscellaneous items. Also, utmost co-operation to make anything we ask of you to.

We are doing all these for CHARITY, and I don't expect any single one of you to start complaining on how we're imposing on your homework time to do this. We're fortunate enough to be able to study and even do homework, shouldn't we start learning to develop compassion for these unfortunate ones?

Although I know this is a little last minute, we can make we with what we have on Monday, and go full speed ahead on Tuesday with A VARIETY of items. :D I heard the teachers were encouraging everyone to just concentrate on making a few items, but I think we should be different. {:

I hope you all will be good little kids and co-operate!
And bring any other items like glue, scissors or blutack on monday.
